ABOUT THIS EXHIBIT: This experimental Exhibit (map and timeline) is generated from news reports from both expert-curated and general news sources. Content is screened by dbacl, a digramic Bayesian classifier, and then passed on to the OpenCalais web service for named entity annotation and then to multiple classifiers hosted at uClassify, a Bayesian classification web service. EpiSPIDER is a tool that demonstrates connectivity between "consumers", "producers" and "transformers" of data within an emerging information and knowledge architecture through data and service-based end points of novel and existing Internet-based applications. The left and right panels provide facet-based browsing parameters which users can select to limit the markers displayed on the visualization panels.
